What It Costs
We don't post a flat number here because roller jobs split two ways: a straight roller swap on a door that still tracks true, or a roller swap plus track or hinge work because the rollers wore unevenly and took the hardware with them. Corinth's housing stock centers on 1997 construction, which means most doors out here are on their second or third roller set already if nobody's touched them. The original builder-grade steel rollers from a door that age have usually outlived their rated cycles by now, and the price difference between swapping rollers alone versus rollers plus a bent track is real enough that we quote it after we look at the door, not before. What we can tell you is that a 10-roller set (the standard count for a double door) costs less than most people expect, and nylon rollers cost more upfront than steel but don't need the lubrication steel does.

The Symptom
The giveaway on a 1997-era door is noise that gets worse as the door opens, not a bang but a grinding rattle that tracks with the roller position - loudest right where a roller rides a bend or a joint in the track.
Dried builder-grade bearings
Builder-grade steel rollers on ball bearings from that era weren't built for 25+ years of twice-daily cycling, and by now the bearings have usually dried out or pitted.
Partway binding jerk
You'll also see the door hesitate or jerk slightly partway through the cycle, which is a roller binding in the track rather than rolling through it. If the door still opens and closes, this almost always is roller wear, not a spring or opener problem, which is good news because it's the cheaper fix.
The Complications
Texas heat does something steel rollers don't love: it softens whatever grease is left in the bearing and lets it run out faster than in a mild climate, so steel rollers in this region wear out ahead of their rated life. That's one reason we steer most Corinth customers toward nylon rollers on sealed bearings - they don't rely on grease staying put. The other complication is track condition. If a roller's been grinding for months before anyone called, it can groove the track itself, and a grooved track needs straightening or replacement before new rollers will run quiet. We check for that before quoting, because new rollers in a bad track just wear out again in half the time.
Parts We Carry
We stock nylon rollers in the stem lengths that fit the common double and single doors built through the 1990s and 2000s, which covers the bulk of what's in Corinth. We also carry steel ball-bearing rollers for owners who want to match original hardware or who are on a tighter budget, and the sealed-bearing upgrade for anyone replacing a full set rather than a couple of rollers. What we don't stock is the bracket style used on some older low-headroom doors from before that era - that's a special-order part, and if your door needs it we'll tell you up front rather than make you wait at the door for a part we don't have on the truck.
How to Book
We run this job out of Grapevine, about 14 miles from Corinth, so we schedule the visit rather than drop by on short notice.
Phone noise diagnosis
Tell us what you're hearing - where in the cycle the noise happens, whether the door still opens fully - and we can usually tell you over the phone whether it's a roller job or something else before we ever drive out.
Grapevine roller counterpart
See our full Corinth service page for the other work we do in town, or check the Grapevine roller replacement page for how we handle this same job on the Grapevine side.
Doing It Yourself
Swapping a bottom roller on a door with the spring properly tensioned is within reach for a careful homeowner with the right tools - it's one of the few garage door jobs that doesn't involve the spring directly. The top rollers are a different story: the door has to come down off the track partway, and on a door built in the 1990s the stem and bracket can be rusted enough that they snap rather than slide out, which turns a simple swap into a stuck-fastener problem. If you're not confident fighting a 25-year-old bracket on a stepladder, that's the point where it's cheaper to have us do the whole set than to buy one roller and spend an afternoon on it.
