How to Book
Lantana sits about 11 miles from our Grapevine shop, which is the first thing to know about how a panel job here actually runs: we load the van with the measurements you give us over the phone, not with a guess, because a second trip out costs you a day and costs us the morning.
Brand sticker and dimensions
When you call, have the door's brand sticker and the panel dimensions ready if you can find them - most Lantana garages were built around 2007, so the sticker is usually still legible inside the top section.
Section count and insulation
We book the visit once we know the section height, the number of panels wide, and whether the door is insulated steel or a laminate-over-steel build, which is the common factory spec for that era.
Discontinued style warning
If the panel is a style the manufacturer has since discontinued, we tell you on the phone before we drive out, not after.

The Complications
Lantana's housing stock is newer than most of the areas we cover - a lot of it went up well after the 1980s-90s run that dominates the wider service area, and that cuts both ways on a panel job.
Straight newer tracks
The good news: newer tracks and rollers are usually straight, so a single damaged section often swaps clean without fighting the hardware. The bad news: builders in this era used factory color runs and panel profiles that get discontinued faster than the door itself ages.
Closest current color match
If your door is a shade or texture the maker no longer stocks, we're matching to the closest current panel, not an identical one, and on a door with only one or two sections showing, that mismatch is visible.
Thin local panel market
With roughly 3,920 households in this immediate area, there isn't a big enough local market for distributors to keep every late-2000s panel style on a shelf, so some runs wait on special order.
Doing It Yourself
A single dented panel on a sectional door is one of the more DIY-friendly garage repairs, if the door is unplugged from the opener and the section isn't load-bearing with the spring system.
Exact hinge match swap
You unbolt the hinges, slide the old panel out, slide the new one in, and rebolt - assuming the replacement panel is an exact match for mounting holes and roller spacing.
Ordering info errors
The part that trips people up is ordering: get the brand, model, and section number wrong and you've got a panel that doesn't bolt to your hinges at all.
Bottom panel strut risk
We also don't recommend doing this on the bottom panel near the spring cables or on double-wide doors where the panel also carries a strut - that's where a wrong move bends a track or drops a door on your hand. If you're not sure which panel you're dealing with, a phone call with a photo is faster than a wasted order.
What the Fix Involves
Most jobs start with us pulling the serial plate and cross-referencing against the manufacturer's part catalog, because guessing a panel profile from across the garage gets it wrong more than it gets it right.
Mechanical swap steps
Once we have the right section, the swap itself is mechanical: disconnect the opener arm, release spring tension if the damaged section sits near the bottom bracket, unbolt the hinges on either side of the bad panel, and set the new one in.
Foam core R-value match
On insulated steel doors - common on Lantana's 2007-era builds - we also check that the new panel's foam core matches the R-value of the rest of the door, since mismatched insulation shows up as a visible seam in winter condensation.
Impact causes most damage
Heat here runs moderate rather than extreme, so warping from sun exposure is less of a driver of panel failure than it is in harsher climates; most of what we see is impact damage - a car bumper, a basketball, a trailer hitch backing in too fast.
The Symptom
The giveaway for a panel-only repair, rather than a full door replacement, is damage that's contained to one or two sections with the rest of the door still running true on its track. If the door still opens and closes smoothly and the dent or crack is cosmetic or a shallow crease, a panel swap fixes it. What pushes a job from panel replacement into full door replacement is when the impact has also bent the track, twisted a stile, or thrown the door out of square - on a 2007-era build those symptoms usually mean the collision was harder than it looks from the dent alone.
